This event happens on Aug 4, 2012.
For the past 20 years Canadian jazz guitarist Mark Ucci has toured from coast to coast in Canada and internationally as well as releasing two jazz trio recordings under his leadership.
Mark first started playing guitar when he was 10 years old and was introduced to jazz music when he was 15. He went on to study with Canadian jazz icon Reg Schwager at Mohawk College in the jazz performance program in 1991. Thereafter Mark began to find his own voice and continued his studies crediting his main influences on guitar to Wes Montgomery and Ed Bickert. Along with his performance studies, Mark also continues to pursue jazz composition writing for a variety of ensembles.
His debut CD “Moment To Moment” was recorded in 1998 and features original compositions as well as choice standards. His most recent CD titled “I Didn’t Know What Time It Was” and is comprised of jazz standards; after the CD was released, Mark toured with the trio at major Canadian jazz festivals.
Currently Mark is busy performing in numerous jazz ensembles and is very active with his own group, “Mark Ucci Quartet” which has been performing together for over a decade.
