Skilled and melodic, David Hollingshead is a classically trained jazz and contemporary pianist. He comes from a very musical upbringing born in the heart of Guelph Ontario. Learning piano from a young age he progressed through the Royal Conservatory of Music system. However he eventually became enamored with Jazz. In 2010 he enrolled at Mohawk College to study jazz professionally. Studying with acclaimed pianist Adrean Farrugia along with bassist Pat Collins, David later achieved his diploma in 2014. David is currently performing in venues across southern Ontario with varying acts as a leader and sideman. His playing can be described as energetic, playful, and pensive.
Isaiah Farahbakhsh is a cellist who traces his roots to both the classical and jazz traditions, most recently studying with the internationally acclaimed Matt Brubeck. He mainly performs solo compositions melding global sounds, pop sensibilities and free improvisation incorporating vocals and a pedal rig. He has performed at many local events including the Guelph Jazz Festival, the ‘Silence.’ and Guelph Symphony Orchestra concert series playing alongside renown flutist Nicole Mitchell and percussionist Dong-Won Kim. In addition to music he also enjoys exploring the diverse paths of science, which he is currently studying via physics at the University of Guelph.
