Willms-Sinclair is a brand new Jazz-Pop duo, with a twist. Comprised of singer/songwriters Susan Sinclair and Mark Willms on keyboards and vocals, this duo brings a unique and eclectic sound with heartfelt harmonies and original arrangements. Their repertoire is vast; from Ella Fitzgerald & Diana Krall to Billy Joel & Radiohead. Mark and Susan love to surprise the audience (and themselves!) with rare gems. Both are Royal Conservatory trained, plus Mark attained an Honours Composition Music degree at Wilfrid Laurier University.
Mark has performed for millions of people around the world, having opened for the many legends of Rock and Pop at Lulu’s Roadhouse, a band he still rocks with 31 years on. His role in, and contributions to the soundtrack of Sofia Copolla’s Oscar winning movie ‘Lost In Translation’ is a career highlight, which happened while working in Tokyo, Japan. He has also toured the world with Jackie Cheung, a musical legend in China. Whether a touring multi-keyboardist, or passionate solo artist, Mark’s ability to play all genres, and his love for writing and performing, shines through with every note.
Susan Sinclair has that pure sweet vocal tone and a wonderful original way to interpret songs which touch the heart. She grew up in Northern Ontario, listening to Big Bands and Broadway musicals on the hi-fi. Susan has a passion for storytelling and harmony. She has spent over two decades as a French Immersion teacher, using the power of music to connect with and inspire young children. When an opportunity to do a jazz show with Mark arose, she was hesitant, but decided to give it a try. And she has never looked back!
Mark’s first two albums, “Stories My Piano Told Me” and “Release”, can be found on YouTube, Spotify, and at the iTunes Store. Susan’s songs are available live only.
