Honoured as a “world class jazz singer” for her “spellbinding voice” and “boldly unique style” (−Everett. R. Davis, All About Jazz), Canadian jazz vocalist, poet and composer Lara Solnicki is one of Jazz icon Greg Osby’s Inner Circle Music label artists, performing and recording with many of Canada’s finest musicians, with #1 songs on Canadian jazz radio and web charts (Radio Canada, CBC), garnering rave reviews from 4 continents. A classically trained singer with a four octave range, Lara originally intended a career in opera, receiving a BA from The Glenn Gould School/ Royal Conservatory of Music where she studied voice and piano in the Performance Diploma and Artist Diploma programs. She has studied with dozens of top international artists and educators in the fields of classical music, jazz and creative music, which includes spending summer 2017 in New York, thanks to a Chalmers Foundation Professional Development Grant. Praised for “her outstanding musicianship” and “superb vocal technique” (−Thomas Cunniffe, Jazz History Online), for “the purity of her voice, her understanding of the most subtle nuances in lyrics and melody, and the freshness, intelligence and wit she invests in every interpretation”

She has released two CDs; “A Meadow in December” (2010, Independent), and “Whose Shadow?” (2014 Inner Circle Music) listed in January 2016 as one of the Best Vocal Jazz releases of 2015 (Jazz History Online, USA). Lara has been featured in CD compilations produced by JAZZIZ magazine (USA), and “For Jazz Vocal Fans Only vol. 1″ (Japan). Tania Gill is a Toronto-based pianist and composer. She leads the Tania Gill Quartet with Lina Allemano (trumpet), Nico Dann (drums) and Rob Clutton (bass). She is a member of the Brodie West Quintet, Rebecca Hennessy’s FOG Brass Band, the Woodshed Orchestra, and was a member of The Flying Bulgar Klezmer Band and Deep Dark United among others. As a freelance musician she has worked with numerous world class musicians including Steve Reich, Anthony Braxton and Mary Margaret O’Hara. Tania studied classical piano at the University of Victoria, has a BMUS (McGill, Jazz) and an MMUS (UofT Jazz).
Toronto-born jazz bassist Artie Roth has been an active composer, bandleader, performer and educator since his graduation from York University B.F.A (1992) with the Oscar Peterson Scholarship and Masters Degree (2016). As a leader of his own group, Artie released Parallels in (2005), Currently Experiencing (2013) and Discern (2015) with a tour of Eastern Canada, Eastern Europe (2017) and distribution deal through Sony/The Orchard on Innsbruck records. An active member of, and contributing composer for The Juno award winning Rich Underhill Group, The Bob Brough Quartet and Kollage, Artie was nominated for a National Jazz Award in the category of Bassist of the Year. Concurrently with his performance career, Artie is a Bass Instructor and ensemble coach at York University and Centennial College.
