Born in Scarborough Ontario, Noella Upitis completed her formal art
training at the Ontario College of Art (now known as OCAD U). She
then moved to Guelph to complete her bachelor of Fine Art. Guelph
has remained her home base ever since.
Ultimately, it is the nature of trees and her connection to them that
inspires these Canadian landscape paintings. Rich texture created by
a crackle medium, acrylic and pen and ink produce extraordinary detail
that has become the signature of Noella’s work. Her distinct style attracts
collectors and buyers in Canada, the United States and abroad. Collections
of her art and current work can be seen in solo, group and juried exhibitions throughout the year.
